I am with you. Its an absolutely insane war but the soldiers didn't start it. Bush and Blair did.

Remember the innocent victims as well as the ones who go in with guns and tanks.
Remember the children, the ordinary civilians going about their every day life who get caught up in it all, also remember the animals and the damage war does to our environment, our Earth.
Lets hope in remembering people learn, though looking back on history so far, no one seems to be learning anything.-
- 2009-11-08 @ 15:14:28
Of course we must remember everyone affected. War is an insane business. Thats why most are started by nutters.
-
- 2009-11-08 @ 17:52:40
I often wonder, if everyone in the world refused to take up arms against another human for these nutters there would be no one to fight against but the odd 4 or 5 nutters who would soon shoot themselves in the toe and go wimping home to mummy.
Put down those guns, say no you wont do it.
Give peace a chance for the sake of the human race.-

An idealistic dream I'm afraid. Some are born to lead, some are born to follow. If you get the rogue twat as leader you are in the shit can.......
-
- 2009-11-08 @ 18:53:54
all leaders throughout history have been twats though
-
- 2009-11-08 @ 19:00:33
And that is why we have never been at peace. All leaders have one aim and that is to stamp their place in history. They are never going to do that by opening garden fetes. Thats why they go in for unbelievably misguided foreign fuck ups.

Maybe Monbiots 'one world government' makes sense.

Just always needs to be said xx

- 2009-11-08 @ 14:06:34
Thanks for doing this post pompey but why oh why does there have to be wars
precious lives lost for what! I will never understand the need for war xx-
- 2009-11-08 @ 18:07:48
The sad thing is that in most cases there is no need for war. All it takes is one idiot, a Hitler say or a Bush (and no I have no problems lumping them together) to start a bandwagon and that is where it all starts. xx

I've had my poppie on all week. I think it's very important to remember the brave no matter what we think about war.
-
- 2009-11-08 @ 18:26:04
Exactly. Just because we don't agree with the government doesnt mean we have to let down those at the sharp end.
-
- 2009-11-08 @ 18:05:19
Well said hun.. I have worn my Poppy with pride all week, and spent time reflecting today on those that lost thier lives..And thinking about those that fight today... xx

As we all must. I think that the Afghanistan war (no matter what Brown says) is futile but that is not the fault of those on the ground. It is the fault of the politicians who allowed themselves to be taken in by the gurning git Bush and now have no way out of it.

Observations on Rememberance Sunday
@ 2009-11-08 – 10:58:01
To the fallen we will never forget. To the living, in danger as we speak wherever you are, you are in our thoughts. We will remember them. Please all wear your poppies with pride. You may not agree with the war but remember it is not the politicians on the front but ordinary men and women. For them, in 5 minutes, please pause and reflect. Thank you.

Well said Pompey. I don't agree with what's happening but our boys are doing their job and paying the price. Politicians may have a serious lack of respect just now, but those who have fallen and those who daily put there lives on the line get every ounce of respect I have.
The word hero is used for sports, entertainment and movie stars. They are not heros, the guys and girls who are remembered today are the heros of this country.
For that we give rememberance.
